Support Young Pipers!

Scotland

Two 17 year old pipers, George Nickerson and Ned Robertson, have set themselves the challenge to play bagpipes on six of Scotland’s highest mountains, all to raise money for the Argyll Piping Trust who have set out to hope provide free piping lessons for primary schools in the Argyllshire area.

For every £200 raised a young pupil in the Argyll can be taught the bagpipes for a year!  George and Ned aim to raise £12,000 and are asking for your help to support their campaign.

The Argyll Piping Trust with the support of the Argyll and Bute Council provides 50% of the funds required to teach the Pipes to children in Argyll Primary Schools.  Each year through this scheme around 130 children across 17 different Primary Schools receive tuition free of charge. However, as a result of difficulties in local government funding, the Council’s budget for music tuition is under review and charitable funds provided through the Argyll Piping Trust are becoming more important than ever to ensure that this  highly successful scheme can continue.
