Scotland V USA: Rugby World Cup – Sept 27

Hold the date – the stage is set for Scotland to play the USA at Elland Road, Leeds, as they both compete in Pool B of the Rugby World Cup on September 27.

Kick-Off: 14:30 GMT

Former Scotland players Sean Lineen and Peter Wright think Scotland have a good chance of progressing from Pool B into the World Cup quarter-finals beside South Africa.

Sean Lineen told the BBC, he believes avoiding injuries will be crucial and thinks teams should look out for “a massive upset” when they face Fiji, Tonga and Samoa.

In the USA, rugby is already the fastest growing team sport in the U.S. over the past five years, according to industry figures. About 1.2 million participate regularly – a fraction of the numbers who play American football and soccer – but enthusiasts are convinced rugby is about to take off.

The USA team is on the rise and is currently seeded 15th in the World.
