Aimee Kent, Glasgow-based ethical fashion and textile brand, has launched in the USA on a highly innovative made-in-the-USA on demand platform. Unlike other routes to market – Nineteenth Amendment – helps bring empowerment back to fashion, through a unique pre-sales ordering model, that helps consumers discover new talent and gives designers a much more efficient distribution channel.
Brooklyn based Nineteenth Amendment announced a relationship with US retailer Macy’s June 12th, 2015 and through this collaboration, the Aimee Kent line will now be accessible to over 6 million shoppers every month. This unique collaboration was born through Nineteenth Amendment’s commitment to promote talented designers around the world.
Inspired by her Scottish heritage, Kenyan birthplace, New York, travel and foreign architecture, designer Aimee Kent engages in environmentally friendly and sustainable printing techniques creating eye-catching and innovative designs. Aimee gained her honours degree in textile design at Glasgow School of Art in Scotland and has since had textiles featured in publications such as Vogue, Marie Claire, WGSN, and Elle Magazine. Aimee has also collaborated with and produced textiles for fashion designers such as award winning Henrietta Ludgate, Niki Taylor (of labels Olanic and The Top Project), Bonnie Bling, and ethical fashion label Johari, as well as working on projects with the likes of EMI music, Wrag Wrap, Keka Case, Fab.com and various other local artists and organisations with more exciting commercial collaborative projects and commissions to be announced later in the year.
